“D.D.” a beastman with a dog's head, and “KURO SASORI (Black Scorpion)” a beautiful former assassin who defected from an assassination organization and is now on the run. D.D. managed to rescue KURO SASORI at the last possible moment after she was injured in an attack by the GHOST KITSUNE. They aren’t allies. It’s just that D.D. can’t stand by and watch a beautiful woman get into trouble.

This is a scene from my original work, “REDTAIL.”
I’m planning to adapt it into a manga in the future.

The Process from Sketch to Final Art
This time, I created most of it using an iPad and Procreate.
I only used Photoshop for the final touches and coloring.
First, I sketch a rough, small-scale layout.
Once I’m happy with the atmosphere, I enlarge it to the final size and use it as a base sketch.
However, once I actually start inking, it rarely turns out exactly the way I want, so I end up changing the pose and other details again.
But I don’t change the general layout.
To maintain the balance, I adjust details like the pose and facial expressions to achieve a better visual result.
Once the new underdrawing is complete, I refine the line art from there.
After the line art is finished, I add solid black areas.
Then, I add color as the final step to complete the piece.
Since I’m using solid fills this time, the coloring process is very simple.
